Dr. Priyadarshini Karve holds a doctoral degree in Physics from the University of Pune. She is currently the Project Co-ordinator at the Appropriate Rural Technology Institute (ARTI) and also holds a variety of leadership posts at various environment related organizations. She has more than 10 years of experience in teaching graduate level Physics and also two self-designed courses ‘Science and Sustainable Development’ and ‘Living with Climate Change’. She has also worked as Honorary Faculty for a number of local, national and international workshops related to science education, rural development, renewable energy technology, energy policy, energy and gender, climate change, etc.
Dr. Karve has over 35 research publications, one autobiographical book in Marathi,‘Urjechya Shodhat’ and more than 150 articles in regional newspapers and magazines on renewable energy, sustainable development, and other social and educational issues to her credit. She is also the recipient of numerous national and international awards, notably, the Prof. Yashwantrao Kelkar Youth Award, 2002, presented by All India Students’ Federation, for contribution in the field of Commercialization of Renewable Energy Technologies and the World Technology Award 2005, in the category of Environment.
